‘Turn The World Around’
***Released 1st August 2011***
Grizzly Records
www.GoGoBot.co.uk

‘GoGoBot definitely have the live chops to win over festival audiences.’ Record of the Day

‘Turn The World Around’ is the new single from Glasgow’s rising talent GoGoBot. The track continues the bands formula of infectious pop hooks, this time with a slower pace and mixes a haunting verse with uplifting chorus and fragile vocals that resound with an uplifting energy and emotion climaxing to a guitar fuelled conclusion, which,  as lead singer Marko reflects;

“This song focuses on the strength of relationships, there are tough times for sure but you can always find a resolution if you try and stay positive.”

The track has been mixed by LA music producer Paul Lani, who has worked alongside David Bowie, Prince, U2 and Robbie Williams to name but a few and is the fourth of six to be taken from the bands ‘See Saw Series’, which will be released in 2011 through Grizzly Records. The series has already received fantastic radio and press coverage with the previous three singles ‘Is This Love?’  ‘First Class Fool’ and ‘Do You Remember?’ receiving exposure on Radio 1 BBC Introducing, Clyde 1, Original 106, Waves Radio, Radio Pulse, Central FM, Northsound, Radio Borders, Amazing Radio, West Sound, West FM. The band have also made a big impact in the press, with  reviews in The Herald, Music Week, The Scotsman (Under the Radar), The Sun (Ones to Watch), Sunday Mail (7 Days) and The Daily Record (Single of the Week), Record Of The Day and Scotscampus.

The trio have more than demonstrated their enthusiastic live performances playing at King Tuts New Year’s Revolution, as well as supporting Glasvegas, The Alarm and Heaven 17 on Tour. The band played a storming set at this year’s Rockness on the ‘Sound City’ stage and have a busy summer of festival appearances, supporting  chart topping band JLS and Olly Murs at Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh on July 1st, The BBC Introducing Stage at T in the Park on July 10th,Guilfest Festival on July 15th alongside the legendary Roger Daltrey and Echo and The Bunnymen and as special guests of Simple Minds and Big Country at this years ‘Summer In The City’ festival in Inverness on July 16th.

With such achievements to date, the world is turning around and taking notice of one of the country’s most anticipated and exciting emerging new talents.

Jakil added to JLS Line Up http://ckevents.net/archives/53-2011-news/141-jakil-added-to-jls-line-up http://ckevents.net/archives/53-2011-news/141-jakil-added-to-jls-line-up jakil_logoOur July 1st Concert at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh just got a little bigger with todays announcement that CK Events have added Jakil to the support line up for JLS.

Having recently moved down to London from their main demographic Edinburgh, Jakil have continued to spread their fan-base into the rest of the UK and beyond.  They made a return to the Scottish Capital in May, but are coming back again, and it's great to be including them in the line up alongside the fast emerging GoGoBot and Olly Murs who are also supporting JLS at this concert.

After making a firm dent in the Scottish music scene and only just in their early twenties, the quintet are fast becoming recognised south of the border for their tight, dynamic, high powered live performances.

Jakil pride themselves on having an extremely strong online following and spend time and effort maintaining a good relationship with their fans. Newsletters, podcasts, video exclusives including special cover tracks, video diaries and blogs are sent out to adoring fans on a monthly basis, the Scots also became the first unsigned band to digitally "covermount" their music in a deal with a major newspaper, The Scotsman.

The latest EP “More Or Less” received national and regional radio play throughout the country and the band appeared on BBC Radio 1 with Annie Mac. Jakil also picked up the 'One To Watch' award at Radio Forth Awards in Edinburgh 2010.

Tickets are available from www.ticketmaster.co.uk

Boyzone - The Show Will Go On!!! http://ckevents.net/archives/53-2011-news/140-boyzone-the-show-will-go-on http://ckevents.net/archives/53-2011-news/140-boyzone-the-show-will-go-on BoyzoneOver the weekend, a tabloid newspaper reported that those nice crooning Irish lads, Boyzone, had been 'dumped' by the mighty Louis Walsh  and were on the verge of splitting up after he told them their time was up – all because their latest Brother tour, apparently wasn't a sell-out.

Well, it turns out that’s not technically true. Although Louis might still not be leading the boys through their singing careers anymore (he’s too busy with X Factor and he’s no multi-tasker clearly), the band are carrying on and not only that, they will even be playing some summer shows. Hurrah! In fact, the boys' manager, Mark Plunkett, confirmed it all this morning when he tweeted, “All good in the Boyzone camp. Roll on the summer shows with @shanelynchthis @ronanofficial @officialkeith @MRMIKEYGRAHAM”

Now, we know not everyone is a Boyzone fan but we know some of you ladies want to know whether all this Louis Walsh business is true – but the fact is, although Louis is a great friend to the boys, he hasn't been too actively involved in their management for quite a while.

So Boyzone fans, it’s all happy days for you - the show will go on (in August)! Hurrah!

GoGoBot Join Edinburgh Line Up http://ckevents.net/archives/53-2011-news/139-gogobot-join-edinburgh-line-up http://ckevents.net/archives/53-2011-news/139-gogobot-join-edinburgh-line-up GoGoBot to Support JLS at Royal Highland Centre Concert on 1st July 2011

gogobot_logo_500gogobot_press_300One of Scotland’s hottest emerging bands, GoGoBot, are set to bring their strident mix of synth anthems with a pounding rock base and infectious pop melodies to the Edinburgh masses following today’s announcement by CK Events that they are to appear, along with Olly Murs, at this summer’s JLS Concert at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh on Friday 1st July 2011.

GoGoBot frontman, Marko Kelly, commented “It’s a huge honour and thrill for GoGoBot to be sharing the stage with JLS and Olly Murs at what we are sure will be an amazing event.  It’s especially exciting as the show is on our home turf…it’ll be a real landmark event for the band.

Bursting onto the Scottish music scene in 2010, GoGoBot have proven to be a refreshingly difficult band to pigeon hole.  Consisting of Marko Kelly (lead vocals and guitar), Rosie McClune (bass) and Gordon McNeil (drums), the band has developed a unique sound fuelled by their own eclectic taste and purpose. Vast arrays of influences such as Scissor Sisters, Sparks, Muse, Bjork, Queen and Rush have merged to create a distinctive spectrum of sound.

To mark their arrival, GoGoBot will be releasing six singles over 2011 from the ‘See Saw Series’ showcasing the bands musical diversity and eccentric spirit.

Do You Remember?’, released on 5th June 2011, is the newest single from Glasgow’s cyber rock trio.  With its anthemic chorus, shimmering electronic pulses and atmospheric edge, the track evokes images of by-gone eras, childhood memories and ever changing political climates. The new video for the single, already available on YouTube, features the brilliant Canadian comedian Stewart Francis who is a massive fan of the band and stars in the video’s love triangle story, ‘Who’s The Daddy?’ to hilarious yet brilliant effect, look out for the twist at the end!!!

Les Kidger, CK Events commented, “This is our second tie up with GoGoBot, having already invited them to play alongside Simple Minds and Big Country at our Summer in the City 2011 Concert on 16th July in Inverness.  We put up a link to the bands ‘Do You Remember?’ video on our website and visitors have been going crazy for it.  It’s a privilege to be able to take GoGoBot to Edinburgh for the JLS Concert and we’re certain the crowd will love what they have to offer.”

Since the bands formation in 2010 the band have supported Glasvegas and Heaven 17 on tour, the trio have more than demonstrated their enthusiastic live performances making festival appearances at Rockness, Wickerman, Belladrum, Gothenburg festival in Sweden and King Tuts New Year’s Revolution. Most recently the band headlined at Edinburgh’s Wide Days festival, an event of music industry seminars, workshops and showcase which brought together Scotland’s best and emerging musical talent.  This is only the start for Scotland’s brightest new stars.

Demand has been high for this fantastic opportunity to see JLS supported by Olly Murs and GoGoBot at the Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh.  Tickets priced £32.50 are on sale through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.co.uk or telephone 08444 99 99 90.
